Beacon Bay, East London, South Africa, shop and restaurant guide for visitors

East London Shopping Malls

Retail Park - Beacon Bay.

A u-shaped open style mall with easy vehicular access to all the shops and restaurants. There is a Pick ‘n Pay store; Game; Mr Price and Edgar’s amongst many others. Restaurants include a Wimpy; Cafe Bella; Spur Steak Ranch and a John Dory seafood restaurant. Access via the N2 or from the Beacon Bay suburb itself. Parking is aplenty and it’s free.

The Hub - Beacon Bay.

A destination commercial centre rather than a mall. Body Culture Gym; Preston’s Liquor Store and a selection of furniture stores, a pet shop and two restaurant/pubs. Lot’s of free parking. Be sure to go to the Freshly Roasted Coffee shop which is situated inside the Body Culture Gym at the Hub. (Office hours only.)

Vincent Park - Vincent.

This is one of East London City’s oldest and most successful malls. All the national brands are well represented here, including the ever popular Woolworth’s where they also have a food section. The first 1.5 hours of parking is free and if you can’t find what you want here, odds are you won’t find it. A poor selection of restaurants perhaps.

Hemmingways Mall - Vincent North

East London’s newest, lightest and brightest mall. Undoubtedly the largest in town. Hemmingways also has a Hotel and Casino on offer; hosts many shows and has all the glitz and the glamour including East London’s only movie theatres. There are restaurants aplenty and a huge selection of shops to suit all your requirements. They do charge for parking, even from the first minute!

Beacon Bay Crossing - Beacon Bay.

Not really a mall in the true sense but nevertheless home to the Virgin Active Gym; Outdoor Warehouse and Hi-Fi Corporation. There is quite a revolutionary version of mini-golf on the site, this is certainly worth a visit. One of our favourite restaurants, Sanook, has opened in The Crossing, this is highly recommended. A gathering of quite a few restaurants now, The Crossing has become a hub for restaurants.
